I cant think of a better reason to come visit St. louis (well aside from Cardinal baseball and the Arch) than the Loufest Music Festival. This annual two day fest is held in Central Field in Forest Park. The event brings people from all over with the same common interests: a variety of music from indie rock to rap to country, artsy vendors, photo ops, local bites, and all around good energy. When this years line up was announced, social media sites burst with negativity about how the performances wouldnt top last years Headliners: The Artic Monkeys and Outkast.
The negativity didnt keep people away though. And the amazing weather was an added bonus. ☀🎶
The sixth annual 2015 Loufest Music Festival brought in record attendance of over 50,000 people over the two days!!
Check out my highlights from the weekend.
Did I mention how perfect the weather was?? With a high of 70 degrees, it was refreshing to have a nice breeze this year.
Robert Delong puts on one entertaining show. You are guaranteed to DANCE!
Atlanta Rapper Ludacris rewarded the audience with all his greatest hits.
How you gonna request a song and not know the words??
Ill admit, I didnt know any Hozier songs other than the top radio hit “Take me to church”, and after experiencing his live show, this Irish artist is now one of my favorites. Highlights from the performance were his rendition of The Beatles “Black Bird”, and my favorite song of his “Work Song”.
My lady Pauline and I enjoyed Bloody Marys and Crepes at Rooster to begin Round 2.
And this time we chose the scenic route into the park 😍
The photo ops were a must!
We spent some time on Day 2 wandering around the vendor area. Loufest housed many awesome artsy vendors including Paperdolls, a boutique in Clayton, and we all walked out with some cool finds.
Top performances from Day 2 included 1980s star, Billy Idol, who hasn’t changed a bit. At age 57, he’s still rocking that frosted blonde, spikey hairdo, and rockstar wardrobe with a butted up shirt open, revealing his 6 pack.
And Good Night! ✌
Cant wait to see what next year will bring!
